The room of the tamed body

First year exam of my education at KADK (June 2017).

The foundation of this project was a study of folk costumes through history and culture.

I focused on the corset and crinoline. I was especially stunned by the similarity of the original function of the corset and our modern ways of taming and sculpting our bodies today.

The project became a way of emphasizing the - in my opinion - stupidity, ambivalence and repetition of the urge to manipulate the appearance of the human body according to trends.
